Age Of Responsibility

I visited the Maghain Aboth synagogue with a group of TTC students at Waterloo Street yesterday afternoon. The synagogue is beautiful and is one of the historical monuments in Singapore.

The guide who brought us around showed us around the magnificent interior of the synagogue and gave us some background to this synagogue as well as some of the Jewish traditions.

He told us that in the Torah the age of adult responsibility begins with the onset of puberty. At thirteen, a Jewish male qualifies to be a full adult member of the synagogue, with all the accompanying obligations and privileges. These are some of the privileges of a 13 year old male under Torah law:
1. He can be counted in as one of the minimum number of adult Jewish males required for the main public prayers.
2. He may lead the services.
3. He may read from the Torah at the public reading in the synagogue.

Whilst this is new to me that a thirteen year old can have these privileges because he is considered old enough to act responsibly in life, there are something we can learn from this. We generally have a mentality that oppresses the young people - that they are still young and ignorant. This can in turn make them think that they are indeed not really able to influence or make a difference. That maybe they have to wait till they're much older to influence and really do something. That is not true because the Bible says do not despise your youth; God can use someone as young as King David.

As I continue to mentor and disciple the leaders in the Young Adult Ministry, I constantly question how I could help them to step into the plan and purpose that God has destined for them. How could I help them to discover their gifting and catch the vision of what direction God has for them individually, as well as for their ministry?

How do we get them out of the overwhelming world concept of success to one who is really bold to love people and shine for Jesus? And even more than that just sharing their faith, how do we get them to believe that they can shape culture and society? How can we get our young people to start thinking like this?

I realized I have to first change my own mentality into helping our young people realize they can make a difference even right now. I am also convicted that the anointing of the Spirit will continue to give us ideas, and we need to create an environment for them to take on responsibility and given the freedom to do it.

Homeward Bound

Final entry before heading off for the airport soon. Some pictures from the last day of the training for the returnees and it was a time of hugs, kisses and loads of smiles and photos before the families made their journey home :) It was a good time of encouragement and to see the countenance of their faces changed!

Yesterday was a day out for the team while the team went to a fishing village at Nagombo where their livelihood was mainly fishing and making tons of salted fish (you should have been there to take a whiff, it is bound to take you off your feet whoot) and a visit to a fish farm and a returnees home, Ashoka's family for a house cleansing where we removed some idols and prayed over his entire family :)

Updates

Hellos! Sorry for the lack of updates, ahaha! Its really tough (without anyone dragging me out of the room to sit in front of the comp to type updates out) after my shower and a day's of activity!

The past 2 days has been really good! The final night was another night of encounter but we did a change of stations which involved holy communion, prophetic art, a prayer scripture verse station where they could meditate on and a prophetic station where the team took turns to release prophetic words out to the returnees.

But above all, Pastor Keith felt a need for the Father's Love to be done so we had a testimony from Andrew to share on the Father's Love and the team went out to be ready to give out free hugs and embrace to the returnees, to minister to them and stand in proxy as fathers and mothers, since most of the returnees were mostly women. It was powerful as many embraces often ends up in tears for the returnees of them, feeling loved and hugged by the Father. (This was the day before yesterday).

Many on the last day (which was yesterday) shared their testimonies and most shared how encouraged they felt throughout this entire camp, cause there was this feel of hopelessness and difficulties they felt in their circumstances they felt while returning back to Sri Lanka, and one lady even shared how much more loved she felt when she was back in Singapore in comparison to the church back in Sri Lanka and it was difficult for her. With the team coming back to minister in Sri Lanka, greatly encouraged them in their walk and faith and many desired to walk closer with the Lord as many due to circumstances turned away, but has now decided to take a closer walk with the Lord from what they experienced over the past few days. They felt loved with the Singaporean team being over at Sri Lanka for them.

One lady even had a dream of Pastor Sunil in the dream before this camp, that Pastor Keith will be coming to Sri Lanka, so she decided to come for the camp (if my memory doesn't fail me) in which upon arrival, was busy looking for Pastor Keith, seeing him was like a confirmation of what the Lord told her in her dream :)

God has been amazing really, and praise God for another salvation I just knew yesterday, that our driver has been converted! :) Hee hee. Its really amazing, Pastor Shani led him to Christ :) He's really funny, I tend to giggle whenever I look at the driver cause he constantly smiles everytime you have eye contact with him, he doesn't speak English so somehow along the way, you'll either need sign language or some translation to get things through.

Thank you all for the prayers! :) All the love, Joan's able to get by (she was quiet the day before yesterday) cause she was feeling pretty sick but I think she's better now that she's got more talking back. The team's heading out to the beach soon, an hour's drive away, I'll try to get some pictures up when I return! Grace is yearning for a swim after experiencing the massive winds by the beach yesterday and I have a beautiful shot of MF (mtv-likish shot) - She's gonna kill me if I post it up, but I'll risk it till she finds out :D while the guys in the team, Shani, Keith and Andrew went on to meet the pastors yesterday over dinner to talk about some TNET thingies.

Day 3

Greetings (It is 1040pm), ! I'll just update from today which was the start of the training of the returnees by Joan/Keith/Praba over at Wesley Methodist where we use the school's chapel and have the training held there. The 10 kids will be then looked after by Mui Fong, Andrew, Grace and me, where we did artwork of coloring and doodling after sharing 2 stories of creation and Adam and Eve.

Mui Fong asked the kids what did they enjoy particularly about for the day between the two stories, they actually do prefer the story of creation citing that it is important to know what God created. The kids do color and draw well, which was fun and teaching them the "Every move I make" dance, MF, Grace and me thought of together in the room, it was indeed a joyful time with the kids and praying over the kids as we asked them what would they liked to be blessed upon.

The main highlights for the day would be the Encounter Night, whereby we transformed the chapel, it looked different with the candles lighted up. The returnees were actually apprehensive after they were told they were free to head to the various stations to encounter God. Things got started as many started at the Communion Table where you can really feel their reverence for God as they took the communion consisting of some biscuit crackers and juice, irregardless of the age, young and old, all of them took communion with such thankful/reverence attitude.

There were 4 stations - A mirror station (where they were asked what would Jesus think of them), Communion Table, Feet Washing and the scrolls station.

Hugs was going on at the feet washing station and yes, the most amazing thing that happened... Pastor Keith decided toinvite the security guard of the school who has been watching us from afar for the past couple of days, to wash his feet. After explaining what the entire act was about, Christ was being shared to him and he decided to receive Christ. The security guard came from a Tamil background (not Singhalese) and so, had some white religious strings/wristlets tied around his hand, which upon receiving Christ, decided to take it off as a symbolic act, had them cut away with a scissors. It was really encouraging cause there was a salvation but more importantly, someone no one really would have thought or have easily missed, but got invited for a feet washing opportunity and was changed for life. Praba shared that while we were praying, he felt something dark left so go Jesus! :D

We had another healing, of a man who was walking with a limp since the first day I saw him (yes, I've been eyeing him the entire time since I saw him the first time), Pastor Andrew had the chance of washing his feet and since saw he had a limp, decided to pray for healing... AND YES. IT HAPPENED, he could walk up and down the steps. I was watching him the entire time and we prayed upon him a couple more times and the people around was all amazed that he could actually walk. The last time I saw him, he was actually helping to lift a church bench up so it could be placed back to where it was supposed to be. It was really quite a WOWing sight but praise to God for a healing :)

We also actually had a live telecast of what we were doing in the afternoon, streamed over Skype, over to Covenant, back in Singapore, where the returnees danced to "Every Move I Make" for the people back in Singapore, both sides exchanged their greetings, some with their moms over at this sideand daughters working over at Singapore, it was really heart warming before the TOSHIBA laptop decided to overheat, malfunction alittle bit, went off on its own and we couldn't quite get the connection back.

So that's about all for today :) Tomorrow will be another similar day of training and kids program running and I would like to request prayer request! Pray for my dear roomie, Joan (she fed me Vitamin C tablets) but is now feeling a little bit flu-ey, I did pray for her before I headed off for shower and type this post but we could do with more prayers.

- Keep the entire team in prayers please! That we'll be well, in good health (no flu, headaches, gastric flu) and have enough strength and energy to last/teach/play with the kids!

- Pray for tomorrow's night encounter that they will have anot

her round of refreshing times with the Lord and be strengthened and encouraged! (They were encouraged today and many said they had a good time at the encounter night as they went into their individual groups to share and reflect).

- Pray for Pastor Andrew that he'll have favour from SINGTEL (YES), cause thanks to the data plan on an iphone, that was left on all the way till here, while he wa

s using minimal usage, the bill has exploded to a huge sum, pray he'll have more discount to have more amounts waived.

Greetings from Columbo

5 minutes to post (became 25 mins, since the rest of the team still seems to be snoozing in their rooms, Aunty Joan and me are on time!) We're on a free wifi available at the Hotel's Business Centre (it is way faster than the one at Timor, PTL =X) before we head off to Wesley Seminary School to check out the facilities where Pastor Keith, Aunty Joan and Uncle Praba will be teaching.Today's been a day of pretty much resting and grocery shopping where we stock up water to drink and head off to the supermarket to get some food for the kids. We went for breakfast @ Nimal's (Pastor Sunil's twin brother) place and had a great start of rice and their curry fish and rice for breakfast.

The highlights of the day so far would still be Pastor's Keith's passport being left behind at the airport where the red book stayed on at the immigration counter since we left the airport and made a detour 15 minutes into our journey towards the airport (that was a span of an hr odd since we left the airport). Aunty Joan's bag getting checked and held back thanks to our beloved nation's Bak Gwa :) They got it for Nimal and his family! He realised his passport wasn't with him 15 minutes into our journey towards the hotel and did a detour to get it back.

Our dear calm and cool pastor took it real cool when I asked "Aren't you afraid of losing your passport?". He went "oh, I suppose it is God's way of asking you to stay @ Sri Lanka. But praise God, you'll have your head pastor back in SG soon. He got his passport back :D Some pics before we head off. Pictures from our breakfast at Nimal's place! It was indeed an enjoyable outing for the 45 young adults who went despite the rain. There were plenty of food for the picnic….yummy bread pudding, fried rice, fruit salad, sandwiches of varies kind and lot of potatoes crisps to nibble on. And of course the fellowship was really awesome!!!

TMT 10 Day 8

Hello for the last time from Thailand,

Right now, we feel very conflicted, so if our posts are not really up to par, please overlook it. Why conflicted? Because we are really looking forward to the comfort of our beds and showers, but also, we kinda know that there is so much more we want to do and learn here and that all the friendships forged here will now be made so much more difficult to upkeep.

However, it is our prayer (okay, actually Uncle Henry said this, but whatever is his is ours too heh) that this is not the end but the beginning. And that even though we seemed to have done so much during the trip, it doesn’t prove that we are elite or up, but it just shows how the grace of God can really utilize all kinds of people who are experiencing all kinds of stuff in their life (some good, some bad) to do His work. And no one is excluded from during the supernatural, in fact, the supernatural has gotta be natural for us first. That’s why it is called superNATURAL right? Hmm, guess we should return home with a thankful heart, and a heart filled with righteous passion that there is so much more that we need to know about the reality of God. So expect cool stuff to happen at home, cool stuff is not confined to hot Thailand haha (okay lame sorry).

Okay after that long ramble, which was inspired by UH’s reflections, we would introduce a new way of writing today haha. As it is the last day, we would be giving you the reflections of all the trippers.

Neo: TMT 09 was about discovering my personal identity as someone who can move in the supernatural. The previous trip gave me a holy dissatisfaction about my current knowledge of God and encouraged me to learn more. TMT 10 was more about discovering my identity as a leader, and how it is such a joy to see other people stepping up into their true identities.

Daniel: TMT has put me in complete awe of God and all the events have proven to be a revelation of God’s glory.

Ben Chan: Felt that I made up for the lack of depth to the friendships that I made during TMT 09 with this trip. This trip, he spent more time with the Thai youths and got to know their life stories and backgrounds. I was also very encouraged when I heard their testimonies.

Emelyne: There has been more 1 to 1; or quality time during this trip as we were focused on blessing as many schools and children as possible during the previous youth trip. Therefore, this trip has been more encouraging as I got to interact more with the locals and learn of their stories.

Eunice: I was reminded that I am most alive when I am doing God’s work. During the trip, I felt a holy dissatisfaction as I felt that I wanted so much more. I am very hungry to find out more about this, I know what I have is not enough.

Peilin: I discovered that God can use her and work through her to bless others, especially through the prophetic art ministry. I was initially skeptical on the ability of prophetic art to impact the lives of the people, but soon realized that a simple piece of art or sketch can be so powerful in ministering to people. God also told me how to take things slow sometimes, and that sometimes, healings do not happen in a snap.

Shaun: I was greatly reminded how much I love to be in the mission field. I love the intensity and the excitement of mission work, and found the church staff workers’ testimony very encouraging.

Kusha: I am very grateful for the experience. As I was just baptized, I have only known of the theoretical aspect of God. Now, I realise that Christianity and God is practical. I saw the works and was greatly inspired, especially by the uncle with leprosy. I felt really happy after seeing him healed.

Charissa: In TMT 09, I shied away from all deliverance cases, because I felt discomforted by them. I was disturbed by the trip and had many sleepless nights. I realized that I did not know my identity then, as I was ruled by fear; but TMT 10 really affirmed that I need not be scared. I have now conquered my fears, and my identity in Christ is now more solidified.

Louisa: TMT has shown me how God can empower ordinary people like me to do His work. Usually when praying for healing, I have no idea what to pray for the people, hence, I always end up praying random things; however, I realized that God still heals the people anyway because He is filled with mercy and grace. Also, it is very heartening and encouraging to see the TMT members stepping up into their identities, this really spurs me on to find and work in my identity in Christ.

Daryl: The supernatural encounters on this trip was eye-opening, not in the sense that they are new, but in the sense that I have never seen them so powerfully before. This encourages me to craft new goals to aim for in the future.

Keith: I did not come with super high expectations, and would have rated it an 8/10 trip. I think the whole group did well overall, but it seemed like we should be able to do more. Good thing was that I came expecting miracles, but instead, I saw a lot of compassion. I was especially impressed by Ben Chan. In this trip, I really realized that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and that there are no hierarchies in church.

Janelle: I was encouraged to step out and speak up. I used to be afraid of embracing the authority that God has given to us, but now, I am more confident to share about the love of God; as I myself have experienced it. I am also thankful that I have gotten to know more new friends.

Vanessa: I started off very excited for the trip. I also felt that it was a good start for the children’s programme, when we started with the story of David and Goliath. This highlighted to me that we all possess the armor of God and reminded me how to put the armour on. I therefore became gung ho in the group and also decided to put aside my own pride. I feel inspired to sharpen my sword and jump into battle now.

Enting: Firstly, I am amazed at what God had done on this trip. It is amazing to see myself and others rise up together to serve the Lord. Secondly, I was impressed by the faith of the Thais. They are so willing to share everything with no pretentiousness, and I know that the healings that took place is due to their faith.
Thirdly, I realized that I always worked to busy herself, but in this trip. I felt that I need to learn how to slow down so that I can feed His sheep.
Lastly, I feel that when we empower of the Thais, we ourselves are empowered.

Andrew: I remembered that I was angry when I found out that the lady in Saweangha did not throw away her idols even though we had delivered her in TMT 09, hence, the spirits once again entered her. On hindsight, this served as a useful reminder to I should not be like her and hesitate to throw away the idols in my life.
I am thankful that I was able to make the trip after walking home after a bust up with his friend. I felt like I was in no shape to lead the trip, however, I was encouraged by the healing of the deaf man on Sunday, and this gave me the strength to lead the trip.

Bella: I realized that I have received more in return despite it seeming like I have given a lot through all the praying we did. I also have gained a lot in experience during the course of this trip. I feel blessed by the many testimonies and the smiles of the Thais when God works in them.

Enxuan: I have received more than what I have given during this trip. I also learnt a lot more about the supernatural. I learnt more about how to hear from God and this trip has built up my confidence level.

Devi: TMT was an exciting and adventurous journey where I was led by the Lord to do many miracles. Despite going the trip with no expectations, as I was not familiar with the supernatural and also was new to the church, I have realised that He is an awesome God who reigns on heaven and earth. I could really see His favour poured out onto us as we prayed. Also, I found that the outdoor evangelistic concert was a really cool concept that we have never seen in Singapore. I have enjoyed learning from and about everyone, and learning about the supernatural. In addition, the faith of the Thai people has really encouraged me, and I would like to share a short testimony which happened today that illustrates this.

Today, during the evangelistic concert, I was asking the Lord what I should share with the children. I decided to share about the story of Grace who was stuck in a vicious cycle of addiction and violence, however, on becoming a Christian; she forgave her family and broke out of the cycle of addiction and violence. This testimony of this girl named Grace was actually my own testimony.

After the sharing, a 9 year old girl came up to me and started asking me questions about my family; whether I have forgiven my family and stuff like that. In addition, before she left, she said that she would pray for me. I was very moved and started tearing as despite her young age, her faith is so pure and so strong. Her faith has really encouraged me, and I hope that this testimony inspires you too!

Nice end to the reflections of the trippers, but we definitely cannot leave out a short sharing by Pastor Eng Kiat himself! After all, he gives us what the local perspective is and probably is the best barometer of what God has accomplished during our short stay in Thailand. One of the days, we had Holy Communion and he conducted it for us. And he shared: There is a refreshment when the team comes, even if it’s for a short 9 days. It is as if a wind has blown through the province. We do not know where wind comes from or what the wind of God wants to do, but God is using us to clear up some debris, refreshing some lives and in the process our lives are touched eternally.

That is good! Haha, we would comment on it if it was way earlier, but brain has stopped functioning so shall just accept it as a good word (: Good night and see you in Singapore!

TMT 10

TMT 10 Day 7

Hello again.

We started our day with a visit to the house of Auntie Ling and Uncle Bpong. It was an interesting visit considering that this couple were new believers, and we did NOT have any interpreters with us. It was just God, Saa Yan (who hardly speaks English) and the group, with our rudimentary thai. Thank God that we managed to pull through the communication barrier. We sang songs to lighten up the mood, prayed for the Uncle’s hurting knees and the Auntie’s Gastro-intestinal problems. Uncle played the Er-Hu for us pretty amazing stuff!

At the premises, we also prayed for a lady that we presumed to be hearing impaired and thus had accompanying speech impairments, as if the difficulty of not being able to speak thai was not enough. Either way, God shone through and we managed to lift her mood with song and dance, big actions and smiles. Eventually we managed to pray for her, although she must not have heard a word we said, or understood them. We used the art drawn by Enting and Peilin to minister to her. i really felt that we lifted her moods and gave her a hope, it seemed as though we were showering a lot of love and affection on her, something she does not get, or hardly even gets.

In the afternoon, we split up to two groups. One stayed back at Thanpraporn to decorate and prepare for the English camp, whereas the other went to conduct cell group at another place in Thanpraporn. The former did not have much to share, except that they had an ambulance break down in front of the church haha.

So, as we mentioned earlier, a group comprising of Neo, Kusha, Dan, Eunice, Keith, Louisa and Peilin and of course, Uncle Henry helped out with the cell group. Dan led the bible study and Kusha shared his testimony. After that, as usual, there was a call for ministry time. This is where the fun starts haha. Not saying that bible study isn’t fun, but it doesn’t make compelling reporting haha.

Neo, Eunice and Uncle Henry ministered to a 56 year old lady whom UH had a burden for since Sunday. Although she is 56, she looks way older than that. With hair that has turned mostly white, she looked older than her mother who was standing next to her. After talking to her, they realized that she suffered from a nervous breakdown and henceforth stopped talking to people. Strangely enough, the doctors attributed this to her eating too much coffee powder and sugar. Well, the explanation sounded weird (am sure many readers would agree), so they continued praying for the breaking of the spirit of mute and many others. After prayer, although she did not start on a long verbose ramble, she responded to the team’s greeting of “Pra Jao uay pon” with the same. And she also praised the Lord. This is really cool. (Sorry we don’t sound very excited but vocab tends to die late at night). Realised the importance and power of all these simple sayings like God bless you and God is good, because the confession of God’s goodness can break strongholds.

Dan, Keith, Kusha, Louisa and Peilin ministered to this old grandma who had a headache from neck up+ giddiness+ high B.P. Something about the Thai diet doesn’t seem that right, lots of old people seem to have rather high B.P. Okay anyways, continuing with the testimony, this woman was described by Pastor Eng Kiat to be a woman with simple faith. This was really apparent when she said that she believed that she will be healed. The first time we prayed had a 30% healing, but as our glorious leader (Neo) said, must persevere and pray for complete healing otherwise we are kinda leaving stuff half done. And God is good, why would He only want to heal someone like 10% right?

So we continued and at the 2^nd time, she said it was about 90% better. In addition, when we measured her B.P. again, it had dropped from 179 to 165. Which is still high, but haha it dropped right? She was really happy though, as her headache was gone and she walked around with a great big smile on her face. We prayed one more time, but were afraid to face up to our results (okay, not true, we had to go) so didn’t measure her B.P. Anyway, we have faith that she will be healed, as those with faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains, and I am pretty sure hers surpasses that. This is the greatest gift of the Thai people, they are really very simple people with humongous faith in God. And we believe that they will be great great people for God, because their level of faith is just amazing.

After that, we had English camp. Thank God that the people who were doing visiting came back on time, so we had translators for the camp. Even though it is an English camp lol. After that, we had time to minister to Uncle Leeyang, who had leprosy hence he doesn’t have fingers nor toes. Shall let Vanessa and Daniel continue as Louisa is sleepy.

Van: This Louisa, seriously, the younger generation nowadays is sorely lacking in dedication to see any task through.

Dan: Don’t you think you’re being a little harsh?

V: No. I am ice queen. Hear me roar. *Zaps Louisa and she freezes in the corner*

D: Right… *Cringes in fear* Ok then let’s try not to digress too far. So what happened was that during the bible study, I was falling asleep and in an attempt to stay awake I asked God for a word of knowledge for something to pray for, and I got ‘breathing difficulties’ (I mean, the phrase, not the physical condition.)

V: Go on…

D: Yeah so the thing is we asked around the ladies and none of them had breathing difficulties. But we neglected to ask Uncle Leeyang as he had not requested for prayer.

V: So flash forward to post English camp! I saw Uncle LY sitting by the side alone and I asked Neo to join me in talking to him. We didn’t know what to say besides ‘Sawadee-ka/kap’ so we took out our notes. Then Aunty Anong came along and told us he needed prayer for his heart and knees (because he has no toes, there’s a lot of pressure on his knees.)

L: And also cos he’s fat.

V: You’re mean! *Zaps Louisa and freezes her mouth*

D: No la, to be fair that was Aunty Anong’s description. I think you should melt her!

V: Don’t make me freeze you too.

D: *Gasps* At this point Neo called me over because of the word of knowledge that I had in the afternoon. So I asked him if he had breathing difficulties and coincidentally, he had a near-death experience sometime this week because he choked on phlegm. So I affirmed him and told him that God wanted to heal him that’s why he gave me the word, and we prayed for him.

V: The first round we had a small improvement; he said he felt a strange sensation in his chest / heart area, and we told him it’s because we asked God for a new heart. In reply, he said he was happy that he a new heart and he laughed! But I sensed that there was a spirit of condemnation and that he was believing in the lies that his condition was a punishment from God.

D: So I asked him if he had any disappointments with God. Louisa, you seem like you have a lot to add?

V: *Grudgingly unzaps Louisa*

L: *relishing her new-found freedom of speech* Phew! I have tons to say about this… He said yes but that was long ago and he got over it because God had a better plan in store and he understood why God didn’t grant him his request. He then went on to share about his journey with God, which spans 67 years! During which there were times when he ran out of strength because of his weak state, but he would still persevere in serving God. (Pastor Eng Kiat affirmed this later on) He also said that he felt like a soldier, always obeying God’s commands, and Ice Queen over here affirmed him as she saw him as a warrior.

V: And after that he shared his vision for his life, that he would live long enough to see the 3 churches of Singburi – Singburi City Church, Thachang Church and Thapraporn Church – be established.

L: My brother sensed that this was not his own personal vision, but God’s vision for His life, and so we affirmed him and told him that it would come to pass.

D: So we went on to pray for him again, for both his physical and spiritual needs. I remember praying that God would anoint his hands and feet (though he doesn’t have proper hands or feet).

L: I remember praying that he would get a new body.

V: The astounding thing was that after we were done, not only was the chest discomfort gone, he said he felt a tingling sensation on his legs! So we got him to stand up, and he got up and walked. He walked! This was a man who previously wasn’t able to fully extend his legs, needed 2 minutes to compose himself before he could start walking… He just got up and walked like he had discovered new feet!

L: I remember Aunty Anong’s reaction so clearly too! Her eyes were wide open and she excitedly tried to get Pastor EK’s attention. I think at this point we were all very elated, like really happy to see such joy in both Uncle LY’s and Pastor EK’s & Anong :)

V: Do you remember when we first saw him on Sunday, every step he took looked excruciatingly painful, but there we was, walking!

D: Then after walking a few rounds he said he felt some tightness, which I thought was normal since he’s essentially got new muscles in his legs that he needs to stretch out. But we prayed for him anyway (3^rd round), for complete healing in his entire body.

L: I was praying that his fingers and toes would grow out too!

V: Can you imagine if that happened, we would’ve been so freaked out!

D: Yeah, secretly we all didn’t want to see it happen I think… But after we prayed the 3^rd time, and Aunty Anong closed, he just spontaneously jumped up to his feet and walked around at like twice the pace that he was before! It was… Amazing!

V: We were just really too stunned to react!

L: I just felt very stoned.

D: Whatever. Anyway I thought that after witnessing this great miracle, we should all gather and offer praise and thanksgiving to God, so we rounded up all the various groups that were dispersed in the church, and got Uncle LY to share his testimony. AND THIS WAS THE BEST PART, after sharing, he burst into song, thanking God and praising Him for the miracle; even the Thais were amazed. And it really struck me how similar this was to Zechariah’s spontaneous worship after he named his son “John” in Luke 1. I then asked him to share his vision for the 3 churches, and I noticed that Pastor EK had tears in his eyes when he was done. Coolio Julio.

L: So after this, we sang praises of thanksgiving, both in Thai and English. IT was just such a memorable night. Many of those gathered were very touched by the whole episode.

V: And Daniel says that if tomorrow morning, Uncle LY wakes up with fully formed hands and feet, he will dance around naked.

D: Eh. This is a family programme, no such inappropriate content, MDA filter.

L: Ok la, that’s the end of the Uncle LY story. All glory to God. It’s really just so amazing, astounding, incredible, coolio Julio. Frankly, I didn’t know what I was praying for half the time, but God knew what Uncle LY needed and that was the important bit. God is so good!

Saawadeeka/krup!

Oh, we realized we made a mistake yesterday, and that we went to Singburi Church and not Inburi. Blame it on the lack of knowledge of geography haha.

We started our day with a visit to the Inburi church, there we prayed for the loyal and faithful coffee lady that has been living in the church. She was suffering from a tumor in her uterus that had not been diagnosed. We prayed for healing. Some words of knowledge were given, that revealed her frustration with her health and her inability to serve God.

In the process of praying for the old lady, another Thai lady that was present and observing suddenly felt the presence of God. In tears, she was further ministered to with words of encouragement from the team. Upon further probing, she had worries about her job security and was convicted that God had forgiven her of her sins

We also learnt that the church was a place of refuge for the nearby villagers when seasonal flooding of the Chao Phraya occurs. It’s really a fantastic testimony for a church building in its service to the community. In addition, we learnt that the building of the church was an anomaly in church planting in Thailand. However, its strategic location along the high banks of the river made it imperative that the building project was completed.

In the afternoon, we went to Saweangha to hold an evangelistic concert, which essentially became another session of children’s club as all the attendees were children. We were exceptionally thankful for Choo, a local church worker, who really jazzed up all our games and helped “tame” the children (who seemed to have too much sugar coursing through their bloodstream). Haha, okay not all the blame should go to the children, we had troubles adapting to the different characteristics of the children that we saw. But anyways, it was a blessing in disguise as we realized the importance of including the local church leaders into our plans and not overshadowing them. After all, we are just reaping what they have been diligently sowing, and they really have some incredible testimonies. Comparable to ours heh. (Okay ego trip there haha)

Whilst this was going on, another group comprising of Neo, Eunice, Janelle, Daniel and Devi went house visiting. That actually is a misnomer, they actually went around giving hope. The first house was Nong’s house, a 68 year old woman who was suffering from collapsed lungs and a not too good windpipe. She experiences difficulty breathing and is constantly hooked up to the oxygen tank. Her elder brother passed away recently, thus, many people have been telling her that she would soon die just as her brother did. These are of course lies planted by the enemy, sadly, she believed them (Really cannot imagine how to withstand such condemnation from so many seriously), hence, she gave up on life. This was confirmed by images revealed to Dan and Jan, the mighty Tan siblings haha. Hence, the team affirmed and encouraged her, and she seemed to have newfound hope after the encouragements given by the team. The most miraculous thing was that she said that she would change her normal farewell greeting of “Pra Jao uay pon” (God bless you) to “Pra Jao jia rak sa” (God heals)! This really shows the hope she now possesses.

The second house they went to had a cute lady whose husband passed away recently, who is diabetic and has high blood pressure. They sensed that she seemed in denial over her husband’s passing, and Pastor Eng Kiat had to explain that the husband has gone to heaven, and that his spirit isn’t lingering around as per Buddhist teachings. She seemed much happier after she acknowledged that her husband has really left this earth. Haha, why did they said she was cute? Because she laughed and tried grabbing Dan’s hand when he was trying to bless her from head to toe! Haha, giving hope can be entertaining yea? We should do it more often and add some spice to our lives. After all, the Thai life is very spicy… okay, shall not scare people off reading the rest of our awesome blog with lameness.

Whilst the visiting and the club/concert was going on, a deliverance also happened. This is truly fen1gong1he2zuo4! This involved the woman who was delivered last year, however, as she seemed unwilling to give up some of her old beliefs, so the spirits came back to disturb her. Again, Vanessa, Peilin and Cass really stepped up to the task and stood brave and strong even though they were doing it for the first time. Of course, it helped that Uncle Henry was so chiong about it haha. Thank God for giving those involved the bravery and anointing them with power to carry out his work.

At night, we had cell group (which was interspersed with lots of bug killings), followed by ministry time. The cell group lesson was about the prodigal son, but shall not elaborate so much on it. Instead, we would like to thank God for helping us encourage the people during ministry time, as we called forth the identity of the Thai people by affirming their places as princes/princesses in the kingdom of God and that whatever healing power we have, they have it too! Really, this trip is not about us going there to show off what we can do, instead, we go there to encourage and affirm the Thai people about their identities and tell them that whatever we do, they can do it as well or even better.

Anyways, to flesh out the earlier part about the ministry time with details, En Ting prayed for a lady with backache. The lady’s name is Nan and she contributed money to build the centre at Saweangha. En Ting felt a sensation of heat in her hands whilst praying; and Nan felt a tingling moving up and down her hands during the prayer. Janelle, Neo and Peilin prayed for Songsee, who also had back pain. The first round of prayer Songsee said she felt better, but on further probing, she had still a little pain left. They persevered and prayed again, and had a 90% healing. But luckily, they didn’t give up, so Peilin and Jan continued as Neo wanted them to do it by themselves, and praise the Lord that they got complete healing.

All the healing testimonies that we share here, we really hope that the Thai people have even more amongst themselves. And from the look of things, we think they will. They have so much faith, it is cool that they turn to God as their first option when they are unwell or facing troubles, instead of man.

Here are some prayer requests:

English camp: That there will be good attendance from community youth, and that many new potential leaders for the church will be raised up from the youths that attend.
House visiting will continue being fruitful and that we would be a good testimony as well as be encouraged from the visits.
Continue to be totally reliant and totally led by the Holy Spirit.

Good morning from Thailand!

We are assuming that you are reading this in the morning because we’re sure everyone is an early riser haha. Okay, assuming too much are we not? Just to make something clear; because we think that we may not have set this right on the first day.

Daryl and Louisa function just as the official reporters, and the testimonies reported are a compilation from all the trippers.

Today, we visited Inburi Church, which was the pioneer church of the province of Inburi (is Inburi even the province name…) and the church that Pastor Eng Kiat first went to, to assimilate into the Thai culture. This church has grown very much, it kinda looks like a Singaporean church now heh. Lately, this church experienced a split due to differences in ideologies, and the church lost many good talents due to the split. From this, I realized the importance of unity in the church, as without which, it brings about much difficulty for the further growth of the church and also brings much awkwardness to the leaders and many others. (That was just a random thought from Louisa by the way)

There, we also ministered to Gaew, the church caretaker. Due to the heavy responsibilities born by her, she experienced a breakdown and has been on meds to control her problem. We prayed for her, and she was ministered to by many people. En Ting also shared her very touching and relevant testimony with her, and frankly, she touched many of us with her testimony too.

Later, we went for tracting at Thanpraporn. We ended up chasing after the van as we arrived just as the kids were released after school. Literally running after the song tiow.

It was really a sight that you would not see us do in Singapore, because we always have to look cool in front of others right. As young adults, we never ever rush for ANYTHING. We ended up stunning a lot of kids, but at least they seemed quite accepting of our aggressiveness. Haha you should have heard the boys, they were quite ridiculous, with shouts of and “GET THEM GET THEM!” and “RUN RUN!” It was good though, seeing the passion and intenseness the trippers displayed.

As we were tracting, we also tried to strike up conversations with the locals, despite our lack of vocabulary. This is when we really thank God for Arunee and Supanee. There was a lady who had a son working in Singapore (who apparently looks like Daryl hehe) and she was very welcoming and curious of our English club. In fact, she wanted more flyers so that she could help us advertise. This is called viral advertisement! Haha, or is just Daryl’s auntie-killer looks.

Before we end, we must end with a bang! So we shall end with a testimony from Kusha: Before I came here and while applying for visa (which I had lots of difficulties for), I trusted in God and prayed for God’s help. He responded and helped me get the visa. I thank Ps Shani for also encouraging me. Before coming to TMT, I got to know God’s calling. After I came here, when I spend time with God and the trippers, as well as while I was involved in the activities; I got to know a lot of things and Jesus touched me. Jesus has used me a lot here, especially when we have ministry time. Yesterday, as we were praying for an uncle with back pain, we felt him getting hot, and this was a sign of the Holy Spirit’s presence coming upon him and healing him. I definitely have grown a lot from these supernatural experiences!

In addition, a follow up update by Auntie Anong from yesterday's post: Miew the lady we all prayed for, woke up in the middle of the night with a new song of praise. just as Neo had prophesied over her the day before, that the Lord will give her a new song.

Greetings from Thailand again!

We ended a little late today, so please forgive any mistakes we made in this report. And we will have a few guest writers, so please have a mood of eager anticipation…

Today we did visitations followed by children’s club and lastly the cell group. Visitation was good; we went to believers’ houses that did not turn up in church the week before.

Morning Visitation

If you recall, Miew is a pig farmer supported by our Green Store (See last year’s report for details). We visited her pig farm today and her new house is up – albeit short of windows and doors – and the Fishery Department has dug a pond for her as well. Unfortunately, a large number of her pigs died due to the heat wave that has swept through the area recently. The damaging effects of the heat wave were apparent to us today – the ground was parched, the pond had almost dried up save for two small pools of water, and one of the ducks literally dried up and died.

We prayed and prophesied over her. Her main concern is her debt to construction workers. She mentioned that previously they beat her up because she was unable to pay! We also did a prophetic act, pouring some water on the parched ground and praying for God to restore her land to its original lush state.

However, our ministry to Miew did not merely end there. Tonight after the bible study Neo, Peilin and I prayed for her. At the farm, Neo sensed a spirit of death over the place, and this corresponded with various events that had happened in recent times, e.g. her suicide attempt, the death of the pigs, and some people broke in and actually dumped a dead body in her field! I sensed a spirit of oppression over the place. Peilin saw an image of an angry insect-devouring plant that looked menacing which wanted to devour something. Collectively we decided that there was a need to break this spiritual stronghold. She mentioned that she feels that she is suffering because God is punishing her for something she’s done, or some sin she’s committed. Thus we led her in a prayer to renounce that thinking before she could be delivered from the spiritual oppression. After this was done she said that she felt uplifted, and we continued in a prayer for deliverance from the spirit of death and oppression.

Miew said she felt a huge burden lifted from her. She saw a vision of knights in armor riding to her rescue on horses and a golden sunrise. I thought that was pretty awesome. I commented that her life was very dramatic to Aunty Anong (our lovely translator) and Miew shared some stories of how God has really rescued her from out of the dumps, time and time again. For the sake of brevity I will only share one of them in brief. Miew’s ex-husband tried to kill her some time back, and she locked herself in her room. This crazy fella then proceeded to use a chain saw to saw through the door and get in! (Channel 8 dramas cannot compare to this man!) She was terrified and her children were shouting for Jesus to help. One of them called a friend, and thank God, when he ran out of the house zhun zhun there were 2 policemen at hand, and within one minute they arrived at her rescue! Praise God! Yeah, it’s really awesome. Though we were technically supposed to minister to her, I felt like she ministered to us through her testimonies, more so than we did her.

Afternoon Visitation

Neo, Keith, En Ting and Eunice visited a man whose leg muscles were degenerating. As a result, he had difficulty walking and has not been attending church for a while. Seeing him lie on a mattress, we were reminded of the paralytic to whom Jesus told to take up his mat and walk, but not before He forgave his sins. Sensing that the illness was similarly more than physical, we probed and found out that he had some spiritual ties – such as worshipping the spirit of a deceased monk and consulting a witch doctor for his condition. We led him to renounce the spiritual ties first, then we prayed for healing of his legs. His walking improved considerably after prayer – the pain in his pack completely lifted and he could lift up both legs to walk. As we left, he told us that he would be coming to church again soon.

Children Club

Children’s club at Wat Ya Soi was good, we really kept the energy up despite the energy-sapping heat and trips that we encountered today. Today, we again saw the trippers work together to pull off an impromptu skit of David and the lion’s den. The children seemed to enjoy it very much, and we had a very good trio of lions comprised of Neo, Daniel and Daryl. Shaun was also perfectly in character acting as King Darius, even though he had a Frisbee as his crown.

Cell Group

The cell group led by Daniel was good too. He taught a simple but profound lesson on the life of Peter with the central theme being Peter’s identity in Christ. A lady also prayed to receive Christ. Ministry time was another good time, but rather tired to tell, so shall save the story for later! Our fried rice is calling to me, so we shall end now.

We had the usual healings during the time of ministry – the supernatural has become natural! However, what was unusual about this time of ministry was that the Thai church workers themselves were activated to move in the Spirit. Songsee and Dawrung, two church workers, were encouraged to pray for another church worker, who had pain in his ankle due to an operation. His ankle was healed, and the church workers were amazed to realize that they themselves had the same power to heal, because the same God who works in us, works in them. We hope that the good work will continue even after we leave.

Prayer requests:

Tomorrow’s tracting would be fruitful, as we really need to attract the youths for Thanpraporn Church.
Energy levels will remain high, as we would have a long day tomorrow.
Of course, the presence of God will remain with us always and that we can be mighty warriors for God. And that we will be refreshed spiritually everyday.

Greetings from Thailand again!

We have much to thank God for today, without Him our plans would be pretty much ruined. When we were going to start the evangelistic concert at the Inburi Rice Mill today, the sky was pretty much overcast and grey. We definitely thought that it was going to rain. Okay, that’s exaggerating it abit.

As a city kids we are pretty sure some were totally oblivious, but the aunties there were commenting that it would rain. And they are usually correct. So we had to pray against rain.

After all, God ever stopped the sun in the sky, so why not the rain right?

The rain actually did not start until, as Shaun would emphasize, when he packed up the last mat on the ground. It was pretty cool considering when we turned to our left, we could see lightning bolts streaking across the sky and when we turned to our right, we could also see flashes of lightning. But our area was totally protected. Cool huh.

In addition, the distractions that happened during our evangelistic concert did not affect the response to our concert much. There were cars driving through our “stage” and two kids on bikes who, in my opinion, should never ever be let within touching distance of anything that can move faster than 1 km/h. It was almost as if we were filming the “Stop and Stare” MV. We are thankful that many responded during our call for ministry.

We also are very thankful for the ministry time. We went there as ministers, but ended up as the ministered. A grandmother shared that her kidney was miraculously healed after the doctor told her that she has no chance of living, and that her wayward daughter appeared the morning after the remaining family were painfully crying out to God the night before; their faithfulness of the Thai people really blew us away and definitely humbled us. We seem to be reaping the harvest where others already seeded. Hmm this sounds strange, we’re definitely not any good with agricultural metaphors considering that we have never ever done anything like that before, but we really hope you get what we are saying. This is when we are again reminded that this is not accomplished by our own power, but by God’s grace. And that we definitely should not boast in our own works, but if we should boast, we should boast of the salvation of God. Haha, don’t have bible now, so quoting it from memory. Please forgive if it’s not word for word.

We met Air, a middle-aged man who is a faithful member of the church. Air had suffered an accident 20 years ago, resulting in back pain. The pain recurred recently when he exerted his back while working. Daryl, Vanessa, Keith, Peilin and Eunice prayed for him, twice because the pain lifted the first time but did not completely dissipate. During the second round of prayer, the team members felt various manifestations of the Spirit - heat, warmness, a breeze - but we were all sure that the Spirit's presence was strong. Later, Air himself told us that he felt a heat on his back, and he knew that the Spirit was filling him. However, there was still residual pain. Eunice felt the Lord say that He wanted to heal him completely there and then, so we continued to pray for the residual pain when the opportunity arose. After one simple prayer, his back was completely healed and the pain totally gone. We were very encouraged, not just by the healing, but by the knowledge that the Spirit was so tangible and present, aiding us in ministry. Yet we were reminded that it was not by our strength that Air was healed; he himself had rock-solid faith that God was going to heal him and had been praying and requesting prayer for healing. God has brought us the harvest and we are merely his workers who reap in joy.

Lastly, we are thankful for the unity that God has granted us. We have been working really well in different capacities to bring about a single goal, as we have mentioned earlier. Again it was demonstrated at the children’s club at Inburi Rice Mill, where we had the main session,

a side football session for the older teenage boys, and a … running about session for the very young. This is where we see the flexibility of trippers to take on initiatives they were not briefed about, and also, that football is a universal language. Not maths nor music.

Oh yea, not forgetting, “Aachan” Henry is way better! Yay! Please continue praying for complete recovery. And we are also thankful for the wonderful beef ball noodles we had today! And chendol! And big bags of coke that appear whenever we feel exceptionally hot and thirsty. And the mosquitoes have been quite unsuccessful so far J

Energy and recovery for the next day. It may seem we are eating loads to keep our energy up, but honestly speaking, many seem to be pretty fatigued physically.
God to work mightily, and that we would be humble yet powerful servants for him

Hey all,

Today, we would be reporting from two different points of view, so that we will present a report that is comprehensive and not gender biased.

Firstly, from Louisa:

We started off this Sunday by doing what all good Christians do, which is to head for church. Except that we visited two churches instead of the usual one. In the morning, we headed for Dachang Church, a rather well-established church under Pastor Eng Kiat’s watchful eye. Here, we decided to hold an “Encounter with God” session for the adult session, and the children’s ministry as per normal. We had three different stations, namely prophetic painting, feet-washing and a gift station. Even though many of us seemed tired in the beginning, we went with anticipation that God will work marvelously through us. And indeed, He showed up!

At the prophetic painting station, people were ministered to as the painters prophesied directly into people’s lives through the use of drawings. Fear at first reigned as the painters were wondering if they had enough time to think of drawings, or if their drawings in fact passed the grade of being understandable. However, through the many styles that the painters employed (and the help of our very capable thai translators, perhaps more so of this than anything else), the paintings were understood!

Peilin shared a testimony of where she was suddenly prompted by Uncle Henry to draw for someone in the congregation that God wants to speak to. Being the well-trained people who always “tio” arrows shot by Uncle Henry, she obediently followed his orders and drew a pink flower. She didn’t know what to draw, but then she got another image which there was a stairway to heaven (no reference intended to the Korean hit show by the way). She was still trying to figure out the interpretation when she was inspired during the sermon by Uncle Henry to colour the background pink.

The congregation at first had two pink shirted ladies in it, and she worried which one the picture was meant for. In fact, at first, she was eyeing the pink lady in front (This shows that perhaps we should all sit in the front rows so that we will be targeted by prophets first) But, I’ve learnt that sometimes in God’s plan we should just act first and let God worry about stuff for you J. God solved it easily by causing the pink lady at the back to start weeping. So of course, the obvious candidate was her. Turned out that she was going through a very trying time as her husband was ill and she assumed the role of sole breadwinner. Well, the interpretation was that she was the pink flower and that the glory of God is shining and will sustain her. She was touched definitely, and really, a prophetic act was done that Peilin has spoken into her life and encouraged her! Praise the Lord!

As God is a thorough God, he also sent Kushasta to cover the base of praying and prophesying to the husband. It is indeed amazing how God works, how He uses us as different parts of a team to accomplish His one good will. There are many other great great testimonies to be shared, but I cannot continue to “luo suo” here and deprive others of their ability to hone their storytelling skills.

After the session was over, we had some real delicious Phad Thai and thought everything for Dachang was done and dusted. Just as a random side note to all moms out there, we are eating really well and probably will reach back like the seven fat calves that came out from the Nile in Daniel’s dream. However, Auntie Anong suddenly suggested we go and pray for this old lady that was deaf in both ears. So we did. As she sat down, more people who were partially deaf joined the old lady. One was deaf in the right ear, one who wasn’t that sure and one who had knee problems (this seems like a motley bunch, on hindsight, but I’m sure God put them all together for a reason :D) Here, we managed to experience our first healing of the deaf, where the guy who was deaf in the right ear experienced a “popping” in ear and from then, he was completely healed. God is really good! In addition, the woman with knee problems was healed of her pain and she could walk without pain after that! Deaf down, lame down, just blind to go J Okay, just joking but that will be a good prophesy yes? We are so thankful that God released His healing grace so much today, it was not that our prayers were super intensive or powerful or what not, as we actually uttered short and simple prayers but once God moves, and heaven invades earth, miracles will take place! Yay!

After that, we went over to the Thanpraporn Church. One thing amazing I have noticed about the Thai people is that they are so crazy for God that they attend two services sometimes. Cannot really imagine doing such a thing haha. Oh yea, about Thanpraporn Church, is the place that I went there on TMT like eons ago to pray for it that God will work in that place and build a church up. Heartening to see that prayer actually coming true, so those on my mission trip, BE ENCOURAGED! Here, we conducted the Children’s Ministry and sat into the adult’s ministry. We are grateful that God doesn’t neglect the young ones, and that He somehow managed to get them to sit down and listen to our lesson about David and Goliath and the armour of God without being restless. The children especially seemed to enjoy the fact that they could bring back their very own “shield of faith” and “sword of the spirit”. Thank God for His good work for all ages.

In addition, Thanpraporn also saw another healing, where Daryl and Enting prayed for a lady with knee problems. After prayer, she started looking very happy. Wondering what was going on, they tried asking if she felt better. She answered by *drum roll* stamping her feet on the floor! Haha, could not ask for a more comprehensive answer right? She could again walk without pain! PTL! That is a short snippet, I’ll let Daryl add in his testimony.

We had dinner and after that a short cell group, where Devi shared a very inspiring testimony. I recommend everyone to grab a copy of her CD heh heh.

Today was definitely a most fruitful day, with many members stepping up and taking up their destinies as warriors for God. Isn’t it just great that we hear of so many new people accomplishing stuff they never thought they could do? I personally have seen so many people discovering their true identities, and all I can do is thank God for His transforming power in our lives. I do believe that TMT is a place where we ourselves are ministered to such a great extent, I fervently believe no one is going to come back the same ever. God is such a great God, when He tells us to be strong and brave; He definitely backs us up with His legions of angels and His Almighty power! And of course, His great loveJ

Okay after my very long ramble, some prayer pointers would include:

That God will continue blessing our work and that we would continue discovering our identities personally
Pray for our safety and health
That the space on the song tiao will be multiplied haha.

Daryl : Feelings of the healing at tamparapon. I was kind of a skeptic of this healing thingamajig, nonsense I might have called it. But after this one experience, my mind is blown right out of the water (or cerebrospinal fluid).

Having always thought that I knew it all, experienced it all, God just showed me that he can heal too, yes, heal. Anyway, making my rounds with the camera opened my organic apertures to a whole new world, allowed me to see unbelievable sights and accorded me indescribable feelings.

So I was hovering around the AIRCON ROOM, with the camera and the people praying, they were, Uncle Henry, Devi and Peilin. So I decided to chip in whatever I could afford, considering the immense weight of the DSLR in my hands. I gingerly raised my hands toward the old lady and just prayed a simple “Lord, Heal her leh….” , felt a warm sensation in my hands and hovered around somemore. Deep in my heart I knew that something cool was about to happen, but I maintained my skeptic, objective, scientific ways, just to see what happens.

The old lady, SUPPOSEDLY in pain, STOOD UP and WALKED around as if she was part of a healthy lifestyle programme commercial by the Health Promotion Board in Singapore. AMAZING. AND as if that was not enough, she kicked the ground with that hurt foot/leg. KICKED THE GROUND! Obviously, Joy emanated from her face. God’s Joy. God’s Glory. God’s efficiency. No fuss, NO GST!!!!. FREE OF CHARGE. GOD IS GOOD.

So far (2 days have passed), God has accorded me the privilege of witnessing 2 miracles. 1) WATCHING THE WORLD CUP HERE IN THAILAND and 2) HEALING AND GOD TOUCHING LIVES. Which is more significant? I’ll leave that to you.

TMT 10 Day 1

Hello all,

we have reached Singburi, Thailand and have settled in very well at Pastor Eng Kiat's place. Everything has been very smooth flowing thankfully. The goodie bags for the events and camps have been packed and the atmosphere is wonderful. Morale of the group is high and the joy is overflowing if i might add.

Today, we had lunch under the same golden arches as the previous TMT team en route to Ps Eng Kiat's place.

Scenes of jubilation ensued after the customary introductions and greetings amongst the group, tears of joy could be seen on Daniel's and Keith's faces, as high fives and congratulatory hugs went around, UPON finding out that we would be able to WATCH THE WORLD CUP!!!!!! GOD IS GOOD!!!!! Daniel subsequently went on his knees in all gratitude, well okay, not all of that is true, BUT hey it came close, quite close, somewhat close...

In other news, riding in the Song teow brought back fond memories for a lot of the team that came previously and we managed to find a Tesco to procure the necessary supplies for the rest of the trip.

PRAYER POINTERS

Pray for Thailand

· The hearts of the people in Thailand be ready to meet and encounter God

· The churches will be refreshed by the team’s ministry

· God will meet his Church in Thailand and the darkness be lifted off Thailand

· May God make this land of smiles become a land of Joy and happiness in Jesus.

· Break the chains that bind and seal off God’s blessings for his people in Thailand , May God flood the nation of Thailand with his LOVE

Pray for the Team

· Pray that the joy of the Lord will prevail amongst the team members, and that their joy and smiles will be so contagious that it will be imparted to the local people.

· Pray that there will be such a strong bonding to one another and everyone will be close to one another as one big family.

· Pray that we will be like the most disciplined army, not consumed with self or seeking recognition, but rather be united and able to move in harmony so that we will be effective against the enemy.

· Pray that we’ll be as adequately prepared for the programme, and also be flexible to adapt to the changes which would inevitably arise.

· Pray for wisdom for the team, especially the leaders, to make the right decisions at crunch time.

Pray for Individual Team Members

· For this period before we leave, many of the trippers have taken to prayer and fasting to consecrate ourselves to minister to the Thais

· Pray that the Thailand Mission Trip will be an extraordinary God-experience for every team member.

· Pray that everyone in the mission team will be used mightily by God as a channel to release His love and healing to the people that we meet.

· Protection for the Team - From the Commando Mosquitoes, Injuries, while traveling on the song-thaew from village to village.

· Good Rest, Good Health & Good Energy to carry out the planned programme, visitations to churches & ministry time.

Pray for a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit

· Pray that the Holy Spirit will once again move like a wind across the province in the next nine days, touching and healing people through the ministry of the mission team members.

· Pray that the team will put their trust and dependence on the Holy Spirit and in faith release healing for the sick and deliverance for those who are oppressed. In Mark 1:32-34, 3:7-11, 6:53-56 and Matthew 4:23-25, 8:16-17 when Jesus’ ministry was accompanied by healing and exorcism, the people were amazed at “the newness of Jesus' teaching and authority.

· Pray that there will be a powerful Baptism of Love and Baptism of Power by the Holy Spirit for the Team and the Thai people.

· Pray for God’s presence to be so real and tangible to the entire team through the revelation of the Holy Spirit.

· Pray that the team will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting.

Dear Covenantors,

The TMT team would like to offer our deepest appreciation for the overwhelming support you have given during last Sunday's fund-raiser.

Due to escalating costs, we had a deficit of around $2200, which seemed insurmountable as it was a rather large amount to raise in such a short time. But amazingly, the donations collected on Sunday exceeded $2300, which more than covers our cost. Praise the Lord! Our God is indeed a God of much more, and His abundance knows no bounds.

We would also like to offer our thanks to Bella's family, Emelyne and Vanessa's family as well as Charissa for providing the delicious confectioneries which sold so well.

All in all, your generosity and selflessness has really touched us deeply. In fact, several individuals had given amounts in the hundreds of dollars. Calling all Young Adults to Fast

Dear Young Adults,

I sense a lot of you are hungry for more of God, for the reality of God's presence in your lives and I am urging all of you to seriously consider fasting for the coming 40 Days of Prayer, starting 1 July 2010 till National Day.

If you recalled what I shared on Sunday, Fasting in essence is restraining some of our natural pleasure, as well as our natural strength. When we fast food, it’s not so much about hunger. It’s really about functioning without being a hundred percent mentally or physically. It's really an opportunity to trust the Lord, because He is going to make the difference up when you can't function like normal when you fast.

Some of you may be saying, I have failed many times to fast in the past. Remember, there is a grace for fasting. And if you actually ask the Lord, he will help you fast by providing the grace to strengthen your resolve and your determination. At the end of the day, you look back and you finished the day with your fast and you will realise that you got there by the grace that God gave you.

What are you fasting for? I sense that some of you are looking for direction now. Some want to have more power of God in your personal ministry. Some want to know the will of God for your lives.

But I encourage you to press in through fasting to grow in intimacy with Jesus. God really has desire to change our hearts and make us realise how amazing we are in His eyes. And we want to know that desire because it changes us when we feel the weight of it. That’s what we want, isn’t it? We want to have a greater ability and capacity to feel the presence of God, to feel his desire for us and to have the desire for him by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I have a Vision of seeing the young people in Covenant rising to a lifestyle of radical prayer, fasting, and holiness.

Dear Young Adults,

We have made the arrangement for Keith Ferrante to speak at our church on Sunday 6 Jun 2010. Keith will be teaching an entire week on 'MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS' at the COOS School of Supernatural Ministry while we are in our church camp. We have also requested him to speak two different sermons at the 9am and 11am services.

As such, there will not be any YA meeting next Sunday. However, you are strongly encourage to attend both services.

Keith’s hearts desire is to raise up revivalists who know how to change cultures, walk in their prophetic destiny, and bring the Kingdom of God to earth, with signs and wonders following. Keith is a prophetic worship leader who provokes people into a place of freedom in God through his worship. He is also a strong prophetic teacher who brings people into encounters with God through his teaching. He loves to train and equip the body of Christ to move in signs and wonders, boldness, and radical encounters with God.

Keith and his wife Heather spent ten years as Senior Leaders at Shiloh Gateway of Worship in Willits, California, where they have walked out what they teach and impart. They are currently the directors of the School of the Nations and also oversee the 2nd year of the Potter’s House School of the Supernatural at The Mission in Vacaville, California. They have also spent time overseas planting supernatural schools in the nations.

Keith and Heather carry a strong anointing to break the heavens open over churches, regions and nations through their worship leading, prophetic teaching, and impartation. They have traveled to many nations bringing people into radical encounters with God.

this week, we are going to be soaking in the Lord's presence.
Be it if you have just finished your exams,
or just started a school term,
or working as usual...

I was told that working for just merely 10 hours a day and you will be prone to heart attack.
so, let me suggest to you, take it a lil easy and enjoy all that God has created around you.

This Sunday, @ 11am we are going to lie in green pastures, be still beside quiet waters, have our soul restored and to feast as He has prepares a table before us.

Come and be filled, physically and spiritually.
There is nothing like being in the presence of God and I hope that you'll come hungry for more!!!

You may ask, "Is this possible?" Well, if you wanna know, you'll have to come down to the YABF room at 11am SHARP to find out how.

After which, as a BAG, you could EAT first (Brunch) then play

And maybe hangout as a BAG after.

Dear Young Adults,

Yes, the Extended Worship is back this Sunday!!

Timing is 1.30pm at the Sanctuary. Our Extended Worship this Sunday will focus on the theme "Vision from the Hearts".

I really believe that God wants to release vision on us. I believe that God wants to release dreams to every young adults in Covenant that you would literally be seeds planted to inspire hope and faith in God, that you will be hope for the hopeless, joy for the depressed, and healing for the sick.

Let us pray this Sunday that every Covenant young adult would be people inspired to break down barriers of small thinking and believe that God can do amazing things with normal everyday supernatural people. Indeed, come and hear testimonies from some of our young adults who prayed for people at last Sunday's Sri Lankan Service and several healing took place!!

We will pray as the Holy Spirit leads and guides us. Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Thailand, let us also pray for this nation, that they will experience the move of God and that revivals will start in Thailand.

Interview with Siew Lee (COCOON)

This is an interview with Ting Siew Lee, a missionary working at COCOON in Dili, East Timor. COCOON is an education project that was started by Lai Kheng. There is a need for people to be educated with skills that can help them live a life with improvements to their standard of living. There is potential for discipling of a new generation of youths and children through education, for instance teaching English.

Siew Lee and Lee Shan, who are the instructors and strategic planner of the COCOON, use Tetum (local language) to teach English. With strong intercessory support behind this Cocoon education project and the dedication of Siew Lee and Lee Shan, this project has achieved very good response since it was started 2.5 years ago.

Tetun-English lessons taught by Siew Lee, Julie. She's a Singaporean who has been in East Timor for more than 2 years working on the “Cocoon” which is an educational project of Transformation Alliance. Pray that God will protect and strengthen all the missionaries and workers in the land.

East Timor Mission Trip

Dear YAs,

Tomorrow morning, we will join the rest of the mission team to leave for East Timor. (See pic for the entire team members.)

Please pray that God's favour will go with us; and that East Timor will be favoured because we are favoured. Pray that our gifts will carry God's presence, and every mission team members' feet will be dripping with the oil of heaven. That our faith and joy will be so contagious that it will change the atmosphere there.

We want to declare these words from Jeremiah 30:17-18 over East Timor:¹⁷'For I will restore you to health. And I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the LORD... ¹⁸And the city will be rebuilt on its ruin.

We want to ask the Lord for a Spirit of Breakthrough to be released over the land - to break the cycle of poverty in East Timor. I am praying that there will be a transformation in East Timor, that God will cause the land to prosper, and that the people will be free to dream and fulfill God's given purpose for them.
